Here are the results from the latest 5k and 1500m at Holmebrook Valley Park

Sunday 27 October 2024 

The sun was out but it was a bit chilly at the start of our latest Holmebrook Valley Country Park event. 

First home was NDRC’s Kieran Sowter in a time of 18:14 and following him home 13 seconds later was Jamie Cawthorne making it a NDRC 1 and 2. Third place wen to the course regular Gavin Newhouse, a bit down on his best but a respectable 20:36.

Caroline Scott of Sinfin RC was first female in 24:21 followed by NDRC’s Sophie Armitage 26:33. Olivia Rhodes finished third in 28:07.

Trophies were presented to the most improved runners with Olivia Rhodes leading the way with a 57 second improvement, Matthew Francis ran 41 seconds quicker than previous and Jamie Cawthorne took home a trophy for the second month running with a time of 18:27, 30 seconds quicker than last month.

We only had 3 finishers in the 1500m and a Cannon’s 1, 2 with Lilly Rogers first home in 7:51 just 21 seconds off her best time. Sophia Rhodes came second 9:10 and Amelia Vincent third 10:27.

A reminder that you become eligible for a most improved trophy once you have completed your third race. 

Thank you to everyone who turned up to run, marshal or help. It is a small event but we hope you find it a very friendly one and want to come back again in the future. Next month it is on Sunday 24 November.
